Having Fun with Sketching & Studying

A Week of Cat Sketches

Hey there, it’s been a fun week of making art. Hope you’re doing well and staying warm (or cool depending on your location haha).

This past week was a productive one and I did a lot of cat sketches again. Still learning a lot when it comes to drawing them. So much to learn.

I’ll share with you a couple of my favorite sketches from this week, but to be honest, I did so many that I’m happy with.

Most of them were drawn under the pressure of a 5 minute timer (sometimes I added an extra 2-3 mins to finish them up).

This kind of timer just helps me to keep it sketchy and not waste time on unnecessary details, which I easily get caught up in.

Which one is your favorite?

If you’d like to see me draw any of these, you can check out the past live streams from this week:

I did Heads & Faces, Cats in 5 Minutes Only, and Sleepy Cats.

Soon I might start getting into sketching owls and also working on some art pieces which I have planned.

I feel this year will be different for me since I have all my subjects already figured out. Makes the process so much easier to approach and begin.

Hope your week goes well.

More to come!

Painting & Language Learning Hey, how are you? I've been good :) Just painting and dealing with life & all its challenges. Learning to paint is almost like learning a new language, except it's a visual language rather than a spoken one. And there's no words either. Something you may not know is that for the past 4 years now, I've been learning a 2nd language. I started out slowly and it took me a while to figure out what I even needed to learn or what to focus on. I'm learning Malay, which...

New Watercolor Paintings Hey there, I hope you're doing well :) Let's talk about March. March was a month full of focus and painting for me. I was somehow able to create 58 paintings - almost 2 per day. But not all of them were good, that's for sure. I haven't shared any of my new paintings yet with anyone, so I thought I'd share some of them here first with my newsletter readers. These are my top 10 favorites from all the paintings I created. I'll share some close-ups in a minute so you can...
