The Watercolors are Back! This past week, I finally did a watercolor sketch on one of my livestreams. I've been working this weekend to make a better painting setup for my livestreams, so that I can paint standing up - how I naturally would paint. Can't wait to try it out soon and see how it goes. For now, I did this recent sketch of some village houses from a photo I took while I was visiting Malaysia back in 2022. I struggled a bit with this one and I'll be honest, it was a bit ambitious to choose a subject like this after not painting for many months. But I pushed through and overall I'm happy with the outcome. It's a bit chaotic but I think it adds to the sketch. Here's the scale, just so you can get an idea of small this painting sketch is: I have a bunch more paintings I plan on making this year - mostly from my travels in the recent past to Pakistan and Malaysia. But I also have some California landscapes planned too. More to come soon. Enjoy your week :) If you'd like to see the process of this painting, you can watch the full livestream here: Painting Malaysian Village Houses in a Sketchbook This Week's Video:Another cat sketch, my process, and how I overcame some of the challenges. Painting & Language Learning Hey, how are you? I've been good :) Just painting and dealing with life & all its challenges. Learning to paint is almost like learning a new language, except it's a visual language rather than a spoken one. And there's no words either. Something you may not know is that for the past 4 years now, I've been learning a 2nd language. I started out slowly and it took me a while to figure out what I even needed to learn or what to focus on. I'm learning Malay, which...

New Watercolor Paintings Hey there, I hope you're doing well :) Let's talk about March. March was a month full of focus and painting for me. I was somehow able to create 58 paintings - almost 2 per day. But not all of them were good, that's for sure. I haven't shared any of my new paintings yet with anyone, so I thought I'd share some of them here first with my newsletter readers. These are my top 10 favorites from all the paintings I created. I'll share some close-ups in a minute so you can...
